Sexy little bride shoes!

I had Kathleen wait for Jon under the weeping willow tree outside her suite. It was so romantic as the leaves blew in the breeze, and exciting for me to try some creative portraits. I think it was torture for Kathleen, though, as she waited for Jon to come find her!

The ceremony was totally backlit from the aisle, but I managed to get some really cool shots with the sun poking through the blue umbrellas. This is such a triumphant moment. The minister looks so heavenly as he pronounces Minah and Steven man and wife.

WHEW. we did it!

 A Baltimore 4th of July bash

The couple looked so cute with their dog, Zoe, who was trying to beat the heat all day! 

I took a stab at the ring shot, a little technique I was reminded of at a recent gathering of wedding photographers.

Zoe decided it was potty time during the processional! 

Cake by Charm City Cakes. It must have been good - by the time Monica and I even thought about trying some, it was gone!

Zoe wanted to dance, too! 

These two were on top of the cake, but Monica caught them making out outside!

 Lindsay and Kirk's vision of a contemporary, yet classic, wedding came to fruition with a totally unique look and feel. Their family and friends converged upon Annapolis from the Eastern Shore and New York in formal black-and-white attire. It was quite a dapper crowd, and I have never seen the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront look so elegant!

The bridesmaids' dresses were more high maintenance than the bride's!

We love when the B&G have a moment together before the wedding, with time to unwind before the ceremony and do all the group shots, it's  a great relief to everyone.

We integrated some classic Annapolis architecture into our family formals. This one's by the State House...

...and this one's on Maryland Avenue.

A Baltimore backyard wedding

Shannon and her sister, Darby, are very close, and they had so much fun getting Shannon dressed.

I stood outside in the rain to get some natural light for this portrait of Shannon. She was squatting in the doorway.

The flowers by Teresa Kastner of Floral Impressions were exquisite! 

The limo drivers from An Xtreme LimoScene were so attentive; like bodyguards with big black umbrellas. This is a great shot by Kathy Blanchard, my assistant for the day!

The sun came out moments before the B&G exited the church at Loyola College Alumni Chapel. It was a miracle!

I passed this horse pasture on my way to Shannon's house.  I was SO EXCITED to be able to stop for pictures later to capture the scene with blue skies. The horses were frisky and came running right up to us.

I love this shot by Kathy! It's very unusual to get a nice shot of the lineup before the intros. This one is gorgeous and really sets the scene.

An Annapolis Naval Academy Wedding

What an exciting time for these young lovers ... they graduated from the Naval Academy and got married all in the same weekend! Sarah and Greg were commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants in the Marine Corps. Following basic training they will report to Pensacola, Florida, for flight training as Naval aviators.

Monica and I loved being able to help capture the memories of such an important day in the lives of this young and ambitious couple. And, oh, being surrounded by young men in uniform — what's not to love about that?!

We had a few minutes to kill while hiding from Monica and the guys before the ceremony. Someone suggested we go over to the fountain for pictures. I got some cool shots of the girls through the cascading water, but this one is even more unusual.

I caught this shot while setting up for the ceremony. The USNA Chapel has such dramatic light streaming in through the high windows. I love how the light catches the texture of the monogram and casts dark shadows. The white gloves add to the drama.

It's quite a trek to the altar.

Sarah's mom requested this classic shot. It's usually done before or after the ceremony, but I agreed to try it during the recessional even if the wedding party gets backed up ( I got yelled at, but it was worth it!)
