Jon and Kathleen
An Intimate St. Michaels Affair
Jon and Kathleen came home to Maryland from California to tie the knot among their family members and closest friends at the Inn at Perry Cabin. The day was unreal; cool and breezy and brimming with love and emotion. Jon and Kathleen were walking on air!

Sexy little bride shoes!

I had Kathleen wait for Jon under the weeping willow tree outside her
suite. It was so romantic as the leaves blew in the breeze, and
exciting for me to try some creative portraits. I think it was torture
for Kathleen, though, as she waited for Jon to come find her!
Love to Lola, Kathleen's grandmother.

Lighting the unity candle before the blessing at dinner; great idea!

Minah and Steven
A Colorful Multicultural Affair
Minah grew up in Ellicott City, Md., but now lives in NYC with her husband, Steven, where they work as television producers for NBC. In fact, they are in Beijing covering the Olympics right now. How cool! For this couple, using photojournalists to document their wedding day was a priority. I chose Jonathan Hanson as my second shooter and we had a blast capturing their action-packed day at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club!

The ceremony was totally backlit from the aisle, but I managed to get some really cool shots with the sun poking through the blue umbrellas. This is such a triumphant moment. The minister looks so heavenly as he pronounces Minah and Steven man and wife.

WHEW. we did it!

YES!!! The group shots are over. It's party time.

The Source always rocks the house.

The band is only warming up, but we just can't wait!

my girls
My 7 year old daughter Sophie has been impossible to photograph for the past few years. She's smart enough to know how long "just one shot" really takes!
Last week her best friend Eva came over. They hadn't seen each other all summer. They were both missing their front teeth! I begged them for 15 minutes in front of the camera.

Our neighbor Cameron wanted some of the action, too!

Eliza
Eliza will be 3 in August. She's just waiting to be discovered.

Kyana and Demetrick's engagement
They recently came out to Annapolis for their engagement session at Quiet Waters Park. We scheduled it for 6pm, but it was one of those days that never cools down. It just kept getting hotter and hotter! They were such good sports despite the heat. We managed to find some shade for them to get all lovey dovey in!

Hollywood Glam comes to Annapolis
Lindsay and Kirk's vision of a contemporary, yet classic, wedding came to fruition with a totally unique look and feel. Their family and friends converged upon Annapolis from the Eastern Shore and New York in formal black-and-white attire. It was quite a dapper crowd, and I have never seen the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront look so elegant!

Vogue magazine cover?

The bridesmaids' dresses were more high maintenance than the bride's!

We love when the B&G have a moment together before the wedding, with time to unwind before the ceremony and do all the group shots, it's a great relief to everyone.

We integrated some classic Annapolis architecture into our family formals. This one's by the State House...

...and this one's on Maryland Avenue.

My assistant, Monica Hoeffelmurphy, broke out a fun lens for this shot! Go Monica!

I love the ivory and silver combo!

Welcome to the tribe, Lindsay!
